TDV only from what I have learned from the reading seems to have the thought of doing good. The creators are proud and this technology has helped people who do not know much about the internet in so many ways. What really caught my attention with this is the adaptation of the TDV and how they emphasized on adapting is brought with no other option. Which then gives people access to the internet wherever and whenever.
This brings the topic to appropriation. Appropriation according to Cristian Sandvig is "to appropriate a technology literally mean to possess it without permission- it denotes ownership, control, and the ability to modify." the TDV takes other technologies and re creates them into a usage that they need which helps them provide internet to the Southern California indigenous people. This concept is pretty cool to me and I think it at some point could expand into something really big. Expand into something big in the sense that technology has one intended way of using it then it is formed into something else.
